Selling Your Pink Diamond Ring and Jewellery

The majority of pink diamonds discovered from Australia having actually been used in the sale of luxury diamond rings and jewellery and the need for an industry monitored secondhand jewellery trading platform is very important. The rarity and allure of pink diamonds make them perfect for luxury jewellery that can be worn for appreciation and is often considered to be a preservation of ones wealth. Secondhand jewellery is always more complex to sell than the loose gemstones as condition, style and design are all factors to the demand for the jewelley in the current market. However, with any secondhand pink diamond rings and jewellery there will be significant value in the diamonds and each piece needs to be assessed for the best way to present them for resale back into the market.

Many of the diamonds that have been sold in jewellery during the period of the mine’s life time are now considered to be of finer investment quality and can be sold in the jewellery or removed for the investment value of the pink diamonds. As diamonds are a natural product, the variety of colous and quality available are very diverse and only a small group have the qualities required to be considered as investment standard. These diamonds are still very attractive and make up the majority of the pink diamonds in the market, they make beautiful jewellery that is a little more affordable yet still has significant growth and sale potential.

When it comes time to selling your jewellery investment, regardless of the size and quality of the diamonds they will all have sale potential. To list any jewellery it will just need to be assessed for the most appropriate way to be resold through our platform. Selling comes down to several factors, predominantly the diamond quality and the condition, design and demand for the style of jewellery. The main value of the jewellery will alway be the pink diamonds but when the jewellery is attractive and can improve the sale of the diamonds then it is worth attempting to sell the jewellery as originally purchased to gain the maximum return.

There is a lot of pink diamond jewellery with lower value Australian and non-Australian pink diamonds in circulation in the market, so it is very important you have your original receipts and details of the ring for verification of the authenticity. The more authority that can be provided to accompany the jewellery the better the providence and the greater value that can be achieved on resale.

If you have a piece jewellery with diamonds from the Argyle diamond mine, that you would like to sell, our expert advisers will assess your jewellery for the current value and potential to be sold in the current market.

Pink Diamond Verification and Sale Procedures

To initiate the sale of your diamond we require all the verification information that you have received with the purchase of your diamond. The certificate or lot numbers, valuations, invoices and where the diamond was purchased are all critical details required to assess the value of your diamond for re-sale. A pink diamond with verification is the strongest identification you can have to guarantee the quality of your pink diamond. If your pink diamond was purchased prior to certification or was sold without one then alternative certification can be created by several independent laboratories to prove Australian origin but cannot be given the same weight of value. Diamonds are priced on quality but also the verification that comes with them and we will help bring them together to get your diamond sold.

Pink Diamond Agreement

Once the initial verification is complete and a sale price has been agreed we will sign a sales commitment contract with all the sales details to list your diamond and make a sale. Where convenient it is best to submit your diamond to our office by appointment with one of our gemologists for a full grading analysis. For those outside of the Brisbane region with good verification details this can wait until we have an interested buyer for presentation to our office.

Secure Delivery

To list your diamond we do not require you to send us your diamond immediately. Only once a sale is at the point of final completion do we need to have your diamond delivered to our office for verification and presentation to the buyer. We will send you instruction based on the required delivery and ensure that it is completely insured.

Sales fee

Market appraisals and listing your diamond is a free service and only once the diamond has been sold we take a 15% commission from the sale price.

Selling a pink diamond for cash

A fast cash sale is always great, but like any significant investment, pink diamonds should never be expected that they will sell immediately at top value. Given the right timing and the right dealer there are a number of jewellers who may be willing to pay you a good direct purchase price but for the benefit of the buyer the price will generally be lower than market expectation as the jeweller then has to find a buyer and onsell themselves.

An immediate sale is never a recommendation but situations change and sometimes this is the only option. The better your diamond is to the current maket demand the better your chance is of achieving an offer as close to market value as possible. It is recommended to always shop around and get as many offers as possible as although the cash price offered will always be less than market price, the offer is simply what the diamond is worth to that buyer on the day and their own situation.
